The Ride
There is no set route though the group usually leaves The Java Hut/Good Earth parking lot shortly after 7:00PM, rides through town to Glen Drive, up the Loma Alta Fire Road and over to the 680 Trail before descending onto Butterfield and back into Fairfax for some post-ride beers at the bars in town. Sub-groups often peel off for other options.

One the way, most stop for a view at the knoll just south of the 680 crest before continuing down. The trail itself is a climb but not the worst in Marin by a long shot and most take it slow. The descent is non-technical, a mix of fire road, single-track and switchbacks. You'll need a good handlebar or helmet light in addition to your pumpkin light.
