HEADGEAR

You're going to need a hat. Orange, spooky, with a light inside.

Option 1: Find Last Year's Pumpkin

If you rode last year and you can find your pumpkin, bring it. If you can't
make it this year, loan your light to a friend.

Option 2: Roll Your Own

This is cheap and easy. For less than $10 and half-an-hour, you can make your own
pumpkin head. Be the envy of your neighborhood. Collect the whole set.

What You Need and What to Do

Plastic Pumpkin Pail (Target or Amazon)

8” or greater diameter

Led closet light or similar

(Dollar Tree or Amazon)

One or more zip ties long enough to attach the pumpkin to your helmet. (Anywhere)

1. Attach light to bottom of pumpkin interior with epoxy, double-sided sticky tape, etc. This stuff is best because it's really sticky. If you're having trouble with adhesion, use some sandpaper to rough up the inside of the pumpkin and the base of the light. It'll help the adhesive stick better.

2. Cut two slits in pumpkin base to pass the zip tie through. One zip tie will work but two are better (less pumpkin wobble).

3. Loop free ends of zip tie through vents in your helment and cinch tight. Take care that the fat part of the zip tie, where the strap locks in to the jaw is either in the pumpkin or nestled in one of your helmet vents. If anything other than the flat strap part is rubbing against the top of your head, you're going to have a miserable ride.
